Die Jungs von Protain sind wieder mal einen Schritt voraus: Stehen viele Sommer-Festivals für 2010 erst noch in den Startlöchern, gaben Goethel, Lotze und Co getreu dem Motto "Nach dem Festival ist vor dem Festival" bereits heute das Line-Up für den diesjährigen Christmas-Ball bekannt! Als Headliner fungieren dabei die Goth-Rock-Götter FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM. PROJECT PITCHFORK, vor langer Zeit ebenfalls mal als Götter gehandelt, LAIBACH, die EBM-Abräumer AGONOIZE sowie FADERHEAD runden das Programm ab. Gespielt wird in Köln, Würtzburg, Berlin und Hannover - in der Niedersachsenmetropole allerdings ohne Nephilim, dafür mit einem noch bekanntzugebenden weiteren Headliner.

Mit den Christmas Ball Festivals erlebten im vergangenen Dezember deutschlandweit über 4.000 begeisterte Fans ein musikalisches Weihnachtsfest der Extraklasse. Stimmungsvolle Konzerte in Köln und Würzburg, ein ausverkauftes Haus im Hannoveraner Capitol und hochkarätige Live-Acts sorgten für drei rundum gelungene Festivalabende.
2010 nehmen die Christmas Ball Festivals erneut Kurs auf die Deutschen Clubs. Dabei wird es neben Hannover, Köln und Würzburg erstmals auch einen Christmas Ball in Berlin geben. Tourstart ist in diesem Jahr am 26.12. im Capitol Hannover. Am 27.12. gastiert der Festivaltross mit neuem Headliner im Kölner Theater am Tanzbrunnen, gefolgt von der Würzburger Posthalle am 28.12., bevor am 29.12. im Berliner Huxleys der finale Showdown stattfindet.
Showdown ist zugleich das perfekte Stichwort für den diesjährigen Headliner der Christmas Ball Festivals 2010 in Köln, Würzburg und Berlin: FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM!
Carl McCoy ist Gott!!!, lauteten die Worte eines begeisterten Fans, als dieser seine Helden auf der Bühne des Amphi Festivals 2009 ankündigen durfte. In der Tat hat die britische Ausnahmeband um ihren majestätischen Zeremonienmeister Carl McCoy in über 25 Jahren nichts von ihrer Faszination eingebüßt, sondern ist, gleich einem edlen Wein, zur Perfektion gereift. Kraftvoll, intensiv und magisch sind die seltenen Konzerte der FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM stets ein inspirierendes Erlebnis für Augen, Ohren und Seele, welches einen von der ersten Minute an gefangen nimmt und in eine andere Welt entführt.
Auch die nächste Band des Christmas Ball 2010 wurde bis heute oft kopiert, doch um so seltener erreicht und bleibt damit auf ihre Weise einzigartig: PROJECT PITCHFORK. So sind die Hanseaten jederzeit zur Stelle, wenn es darum geht philosophische Themen in ein druckvoll, tanzbares Klanggewandt zu stecken. Mal kompromisslos direkt, mal auf bewusst gewählten Umwegen, beherrschen Peter Spilles und Co. die Symbiose aus treibenden Electrosounds und kantigen Industrialriffs.
Als dritte im Bunde stehen LAIBACH auf dem Programm, deren Stil zu beschreiben, Worte kaum gerecht werden. Abseits aller Konventionen bewegt sich das slowenische Künstlerkollektiv auf dem Pfad zwischen Post-Industrial Elementen, EBM, dem Geist der 80er Jahre (Opus Dei, Alle gegen Alle, The Final Countdown) und einer großen Portion Mut zu außergewöhnlichen Konzepten, wie beispielsweise der Neuinterpretation verschiedenster Nationalhymnen (Volk) oder ihrem Werk Laibachkunstderfuge, frei nach Johann Sebastian Bach.
Für den temperamentvollen Start bleibt die Eröffnung der Christmas Balls 2010 jeweils den jungen Wilden überlassen. So lauern die Berliner Aggro-Disco Könige AGONOIZE ebenso darauf von der Kette gelassen werden, wie die Hamburger FADERHEAD, welche zuletzt mit ihrem Clubhammer TZDV (Tanz! Zwo Drei Vier) die Szene gehörig aufmischten.
Wichtig: beim Auftakt der Christmas Ball Festivals 2010 im Hannoveraner Capitol wird es ein abgewandeltes Programm geben. An Stelle von FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM tritt dort ein nicht minder spektakulärer Headliner auf, den wir schon bald bekannt geben werden. FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM sind in Hannover somit nicht dabei.
Nach Abschluss des Live-Programms verlegt sich das Geschehen auf die Tanzfläche der großen Christmas Ball Aftershowparty mit bekannten Szene-DJs. Weitere Infos hierzu folgen in Kürze.

Hannover Cologne Würzburg - Berlin
Last December more than 4.000 enthusiastic fans experienced a musical Christmas celebration of a special kind with the Christmas Ball Festivals. Enthralling concerts in Cologne and Würzburg, a sold out venue in Hannover and top-class live acts, guaranteed for three evenings that left no wishes unfulfilled.
In 2010 the Christmas Ball Festivals are heading for the German clubs again. In addition to the known stations, Berlin will join the tour for the first time. This year the tour starts on 26.12. at the Capitol Hannover. On 27.12. the festival trek will join their new Headliner in Colognes Theater am Tanzbrunnen, followed up by the Posthalle in Würzburg on 28.12., before on 29.12. the final Showdown in Berlin takes place at Huxleys Neue Welt.
Showdown is almost a perfect prompt for the headlining act at the Christmas Ball Festivals 2010 in Cologne, Würzburg and Berlin: FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM!
Carl McCoy is god!!!, these were the words of the inspired fan, who was given the opportunity to announce his heroes on-stage at the Amphi Festival 2009. Indeed the exceptional British band, lead by their majestic ceremonial master Carl McCoy, hasnt lost the tiniest piece of fascination in over 25 years. Instead, like a precious wine, they evolved to a state of near perfection. Powerful, intense and full of magic, the well chosen concerts of the NEPHS are more than ever inspiring experiences for eyes, ears and soul, which catch you from the first moment, taking you on a journey into their world.
Copied many times, but never quite reached the next band of the Christmas Ball 2010 remains unique as well: PROJECT PITCHFORK. Thus the hanseatic are always on spot when it comes to clothing philosophical themes into a powerful, danceable web of sounds. At times uncompromisingly straightforward, then again on a well chosen detour around the core, Peter Spilles and his crew are masters of a well-crafted symbiosis of driving electronic sounds, garnished with gritty industrial riffs.
Looking at LAIBACH, the third band in the bundle, words wont suffice to describe their style. Apart from all conventions the slovenian artist collective wanders a path between post-industrial elements, EBM, the spirit of the 1980s (Opus Dei, Alle gegen Alle, The Final Countdown) and an enormous amount of courage to take on unconventional concepts, such as the re-interpretation of various national anthems (Volk), or their effort Laibachkunstderfuge, paying tribute to the original works of Johann Sebastian Bach.
For a well-tempered start, the opening of the Christmas Ball Festivals 2010 is left to the young and the wild. Thus Berlins Aggro-Disco-kings AGONOIZE are also waiting to be let of the chain, like FADERHEAD from Hamburg, who recently stirred up the clubs with their latest smasher TZDV (Tanz! Zwo Drei Vier).
After the live-shows the DJs take over the dancefloor for the official Aftershowparty. Further info will be announced soon.
Important note: for the first show of the Christmas Ball Festivals 2010 at the Capitol Hannover there will be a different programme. Instead of FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM a different but equally exciting headliner will be announced soon. Hence FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM are not playing in Hannover!!!
